Faculty Research Day, and Faculty Party
University main building, and Calonia
PROGRAMME
Faculty Research Day 2026
Four Focal Areas
20 April 2026
We invite everyone working at the faculty to participate in the day, to discuss how we could make the best of the four focal areas of the faculty!
The Faculty Research Day introduces the revised focal areas – Democratic digital futures, Just and sustainable economies, Democracy and constitutionalism, and Power and justice – as well as plans for their functions at the faculty. Adopting the revised focal areas at the end of 2025, the faculty decided to make their role more active in our daily practices, in research but also beyond. The aim of the day is to help researchers connect with the focal areas, envision future co-operation within and outside the faculty, and collect fresh ideas for activities and forms of support to advance research. The use of focal areas in teaching will also be discussed.
The Research Day takes place at the University of Turku main building on 20 April 2026, starting at 10.30. The day ends with a Faculty Party in Calonia lobby, starting at 16, where we will wrap up the results of the day. Drinks and food will be served. The whole day, but especially the party, is for all – welcome!
